Now that you’ve found a stack of books, you can’t wait to get them listed so the money starts flowing. But before you start listing, there is one more step. You need to look through the books that you have purchased to find any that will require extra research.

At first, this process may be frustrating and slow, but as you become accustomed to the print and online tools available, you will find that this is the most rewarding step in the bookselling process. You will learn about the history behind the books, about the authors, and about the books themselves. You will become a repository of wonderful book facts with which to wow your friends. Okay, so your friends might not think that these tidbits of trivia are as cool as us booksellers, but this body of knowledge actually will make you more money in the long run.
